We are heading into week 5 now of the NFL and I sit at 12-8 in the Westgate NFL Supercontest or 60% after a 4-1 weekend in the contest last week. A good spot to be heading into week 5.
Our blistering 73% win rate in college football came to a screeching halt this weekend with an 0-4 weekend. Bringing the season to date record in college football to 11-8 or 57.8%. That is a bit more realistic:) The ROI is 11.5%
This is the way sports betting goes. It tends to be streaky as in most forms of gambling. That is why I always recommend setting aside a bankroll you can afford to lose and then betting no more than 2% on each wager. 3% is much too high. Remember you are in this for the long haul. You do not measure results on one day:) You measure them on how you do in the long run. Its a hard concept for most, as gamblers, tend to live day to day. They also tend to wager more then they should.
I have a section on this site on top labeled required reading. If you gamble, it would benefit you to read it from time to time.
I have been around gamblers my entire life, and no matter how many times I express the importance of this, many will never grasp it. And if you do not grasp it, you cannot win, it’s as simple as that. An 0-4 day is nothing. To me, its an amusement more than anything else, as I know in the long haul I will be on the + side. I embrace variance and welcome it. After all, if it was easy anyone could do it:)
In the NFL plays are 5-4-1 after a 2-1 weekend last week. We won with Cleveland and Tenn and lost with Arizona.
My picks this week in the order I liked them at the time:

Carolina -3.5
Atlanta +5
Tenn -3
This weekend was the toughest yet for me in coming up with picks. Denver was the only obvious pick. The rest, well a mishmash of what I thought was the best of the worst:) It will be interesting to see how I do today.
