Nothing Thurs and nothing close today. We started out the month and it was looking like we were going to have quite a few plays this month. But the last week or so has slowed down.
The world series of poker has been in town now for almost a month and poker for the most part has been pretty good.
One thing I have noticed this year is that the omaha 8 at the rio is getting almost all the action as the game at the bellagio has been breaking down early. This in part is because the mixed game is started and pulls players away. But in the past when the world series has been in town there has never been a problem with both games going strong.
Another interesting comment by a player that comes into town a few times a year to play the omaha 8. He is a younger player , quiet, aggressive and plays well. I really have never had a conversation with him but we were sitting next to each other last time he was in town and he made the comment that there were a few regular players in the game that had severe mental disorders! He also made the comment that he couldn’t play the game on a regular basis and be exposed to the dysfunctional antisocial behavior on a daily basis.
That is one of the reasons the omaha 8 game at the bellagio is slowing up and in all probability will die out.
For whatever reason the Bellagio tolerates people getting way out of line with there behavior while other poker rooms put a stop to it instantly.
