We had a busy day Thurs with 4 plays and ended up 2-2 with a small gain thanks to our +130 on Toronto in the Nhl winning 5-4. Our college hoop plays went 1-2. There were 2 blow outs and 1 went our way and the other didnt. Portland couldnt seem to pull ahead by more then 5 the entire game and only won by 4.

Today a light schedule in college hoops and most likely nothing there. Probably a play or two in the Nhl. That has been the most consistent the last month or so and is the sport right now I have the most confidence in using my methods. Hoops right now are just very tough.  Which leads me to a comment:

“Rick – nice hit on the hockey game.

I’m wondering: I really liked your “Fade the Steam” approach/idea. Are you doing this anymore?

Thanks!”

My response:

Fading the steam is primarily what I am concentrating on right now. James Madison opened at a pick and went to +2.5. My models had the game rated at James Madison -1 and there were other considerations to play JM. So it was a typical Fade the Steam supported by my other methods.

The other two plays were similar but not as dramatic steam as the line moved 1 pt from the opener.

There have not been that many hoop plays since as you have noticed the lines dont move that much this time of year. They are just very solid right now…this is the time of year the books make money in college hoops as opposed to the first month of the season.

Next year I plan to shift gears about a week before conference play starts. And if I dont please remind me:)

Now for you gamers …..I spent most of the day yesterday purchasing and setting up sharps new 60 inch 3d led television. And then spent several hours…more then I will admit to playing Killzone 3 on ps3 in 3D with surround sound. Talk about a big jump in gaming. The experience is incredible.

Finally Sunday is Oscar time. My average price on Natalie Portman was 2.5 – 1 . I layed everything off getting +6.5 and will either break even or win. If you want to bet on Portman now the price has moved to 9-1. I actually thought it would of been much higher by now.

As always I will update later as plays develop.
