9:00 Update

It was a busy day for swing trades on Friday. I put on 11 swing trades with one exiting before the close with the sharp drop in the markets. So I am long 10 swing trades heading into Monday. Also on Friday the Market became more over sold so I anticipate a busy monday as new swing trades set up. Also I will be managing the 10 swing trades in individual stocks. Also my conservative SPY/SSO trade was executed Friday afternoon buying 800 SSO at 65.68. That is the first half of this swing trade.

I have been asked about stops and how I decide what stocks to choose. Also their have been a few emails regarding what I use to determine the markets to be oversold.

I use a stock screen with a variety of variables to determine stocks that might be in a position to swing trade. As far as stops I use for most trades a 600.00 risk per trade. I use that as a guideline. My suggestion to you is that you risk no more then 2% of your stock trading bankroll on a swing trade. Then adjust your postion size with the 2% risk. You can pretty much figure out what your position size should be looking at the size of my trade. For instance if I am trading 25,000 on a trade long and the risk is about 600.00 and your 2% comes to 300 per trade just cut the size of the trade to 12500. That should keep you close to your 2% risk requirement.

As far as oversold and over bought indicators…..There are more then you can count that traders use to determine this. Note that no matter what you use its virtually impossible to determine the exact bottom or top. So expect swings and expect taking loses. If you have a hard time taking a loss then swing trading is not for you. Poker players that go on tilt and refuse to quit when they are losing are often times saved with the game breaking up. In the markets there is nothing that will save you but yourself. It requires discipline. And you must have it.

Also not some of these trades have no stops…they are pure mean reversion trades. The trades where the size of the trade is 10,000 and 25,000 are typically mean reversion trades. Keep that in mind what picking the size of your position.

Swing trading can be very profitable however there are downswings and they can be sizable. That is why 2% is a pretty good guide as to what to use.

For those of you whose trial is running out you can sign up for 24$ a month through Paypal. Just send to my email address: riccja3@gmail.com

Also note that most swing trade services are closer to 100.00 a month. I have decided to keep the cost more then reasonable for those that wish to follow these.

Saturday we lost our MLB play on Miami +118.
