We had one play on Saturday and it was an easy winner. BYU won wire to wire in a blowout.
Today just started looking over the games.
An Email:
Rick,
I have been following you now for almost 3 years and am really impressed with the way your site has come along. The new site is fantastic. Its also amazing the following you are getting. I get your text messages through twitter and usually can get down close to your number but sometimes not.
I know you would like to keep your site a free site but would you consider charging for say being able to get a 5 to 10 min window on your picks? That way your followers who dont mind paying to get your picks early can get the number easier once the plays are put out.
Please give it some consideration. Best of luck to you and keep up your excellent handicapping!
My response:
Thanks for the email. I have had many requests both through emails and privately to charge for my picks so it isnt so hard to get the right number when my picks are posted. I had a syndicate from the south say they would give me $100.00 a pick to give them a 15 min window, another offer to give my picks exclusively to a group from the east for a percentage of the profits, and just recently a proposal from another internet site to join them to charge for my plays.
So far I have not accepted any proposal although some have been enticing.
I do this because I enjoy it. The only analogy I can think of is its similar to someone working crossword puzzles. That is the enjoyment I get out of handicapping. Once you decide to charge a lot of the enjoyment goes away and it becomes work.
So at this point I am not really considering charging. But I have to say its been enticing as one of the proposals if I keep up my percentages would produce somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 to 100,000 a year.
I will update later as plays develop.

Don’t it rick. This country needs more open sourceness and transparency like yourself. Too much greed elsewhere. Plus, if people are quick, they can get the same lines as you, with the exception of hockey it seems.
Don’t do it*
