Nothing the last few days but 1 nhl game that could become a play. Its a 4 pm game pst so I will update if anything develops.
I was a bit optimistic on my rankings in the Hilton contest…but it appears I did make the top 20 …tied for 19th. 1.5 pts out of the top 10 and 3.5 pts out of first.
Another Comment:
“Rick,
Will you be putting out more NBA plays this year? You are the man Rick. Thanks for all the winners.”
My response:
Yes….I will be putting out picks for the nba. I am going to put out two sets of picks. The first will be identical with the way I handicapped the college hoops last season which ignores public sentiment on the game. The 2nd will be what I have done in the past….using public sentiment as a key indicator.
Now a caveat…whereas in baseball I was pretty confident in a positive season…I am equally as confident that in all probability there is no positive ev using my methods in the nba.
In addition whereas I wager on all my picks….I wont be wagering on any nba picks this year. I will need to see a solid season before I start wagering on them.
So the picks will strictly be for tracking purposes and you can follow these each day on the blog. But I don’t recommend placing any wagers on them.
Good Luck Today

Rick, do you value the old adage in NBA that most players "don't try til the playoffs"? Does that affect your handicapping, i.e how their record affects their effort? In the NFL for instance, most players give all out effort until maybe the very end of the season.
Same can be said for MLB, as it's rumored that lots of players goof off when they're on the road (may be a reason why your home dogs are so profitable!)
