I was down .10 yesterday with that spint between St louis and the chicago under.

Did you get the under 10.5 play for Even money or did you get it for -110
also finished -.10 units for those 2 plays like I did.

    Just curious.

you had better check with your book if your -.10

we lost st louis for -1.0
we won the under for +1.0

I layed -1.10 on the under but we won it

I guess I’m curious then how you go about placing your bet. In any system, to be able to withstand swings all bets should be the same size to be able to withstand drawdowns. Once you start changing your bet sizes based on the odds for each game, you’re no longer following the rules of the system and are betting on emotion which is a surefire way to go broke.

So lets say I’m betting $100 units.

Are you laying full units when you have a play?

Meaning if you’re betting $100 units and you have 3 plays each with -110 odds, are you paying $300 or $330 at the betting window?

The difference would account for how you had break even day and I have a -.10 unit day

If there are two picks, one is +137 and one is -110 (like tuesday), I’ve been betting $100 on each, when the favorite comes through and the underdog loses, I win $190.91 on the first bet and lose $100 on the other leaving me with a net loss of $8.91.

Now if I would have bet $110 on the Chicago under(-110) and $100 on the St Louis game, I would have broke even for the day.

Maybe the easy way to ask is by saying, if you play a favorite, do you always lay the full amount, or do you stick to your betting unit regardless of the odds lines?

In theory it shouldn’t matter other than for book keeping, as the underdogs will make up for the extra .10 bet on the favorites in the long run, but I’m curious to learn from someone like yourself who does this full time, as to which approach you take.

Thanks again for all your insight, I find it excellent čÖé

p.s. how about that stock market! lol.

I always lay the full odds and take the full odds…never thought about doing it any other way. Since I am mostly a dog bettor usually dosnt matter much
