We had 1 play on tues and it lost…..indiana under 212.5.

POKER Comments:
I was sent a question that asked about the poker enviroment …ie what its like playing daily in the casinos and how easy is it to make money playing poker.
That covers a wide area but let me just give as short an answer as I can.
In the game I usually play in the house collects time of 6 dollars per half hour per player. Its a 10 handed game so the house is collecting 120 an hour from the game. If the game runs 50 hours a week..thats 6000 a week the house takes out of the game. Lets say the game goes 40 weeks a year. Thats 240,000 a year. That comes out of the players pockets.
Those are conservative figures…the take is more since the game runs more then 50 hours a week.
With that background a player playing 50 hours a week has to make 600 a week just to break even with the rake…that dosnt take into consideration tips and other expenses.
As you can see….. the house is like a siphon taking most of the profit from the game with the rest going to just a few players in the game good enough to overcome all of this.
Tough…very tough. Granted the higher the limits you play the less the house rake has an effect. But usually the higher the limits the more sophisticated the top players in the game…and of course the bigger the bankroll you need because of variance.
