On Saturday we had 2 plays in College Football and won both. Texas +3 and Ohio +7 were the winners.
In the NFL we have 2 plays pending with a 3rd play coming up soon.
In the Westgate NFL Supercontest, I sit at 5-4-1 going 3-2 last week. Let’s see if I can put together a nice rush to get into contention. It has happened before:)
My Westgate picks this week in the order I liked them at the time.
Detroit +7
San Fran +6.5
Washington +2.5
Oakland +3
Giants +6.5
The Westgate top 5 reverted true to form going 0-5 vs the spread:) The top 5 now sits at 4-6 for the season. For the first 1/2 of the season, you do not want to be on the same side as the top 5.
The Westgate top 5 this week is:
New Orleans
Seattle
Baltimore
San Fran
New England
I am with 1 of the top 5:) And also fading 1 of the top 5.
One of the interesting things this week about the games is that the public betting on many of the games is split about even.
As a contrarian bettor, that makes it a bit more difficult for me. Two of my picks fall into that category.
That is the way it works when you have to pick 5 games a week. You are never going to find 5 games that you think have excellent value. So you have to adjust a bit and reduce your standards after the obvious games run out:)
Last week the pick I had that was with the top 5 was Pitt -4. They never had a chance. Let’s see if I can do better with San Fran this week.
My tip for this week is that if you are doing your own handicapping, before making a wager on the game check to see where the public is on the game.
If you consistently are on the side of the public, then you need to adjust your technique. If you handicapped to NE and found them to be the bet of the day based upon your handicapping, then you need to start over from scratch:)
